OBJECTIVES

Productivity in digital manufacturing

The main project objective is to develop technologies that allow the optimization of the management and operation of the production lines of trains. TRAIN 4.0 will automatically control the complete production flow of the wagons in order to detect and improve the entire production process using Indoor Positioning technologies. The project will leverage new technologies, such as IoT, telecommunications and MES platforms.

Specific targets

Increase the competitiveness of the Catalan railway industry by implementing a strategic collaborative project with companies, users, research centers and public entities.
Develop new technologies linked to Industry 4.0, which improve the capacity of the means of production of means of transport and components.
Demonstrate the technologies in an operating environment developing the current state of the art and bringing to market 3-5 new innovative products, which will have to be tested and validated.
Execute an international communication strategy that will allow a later expansion of the TRAIN 4.0 project

MEMBERS

A consortia with strong synergies

The TRAIN 4.0 project greatly enhances the productivity of European train manufacturers, strengthening their position as world leaders. It can produce general profits of 5% of the production of the industry. In addition, TRAIN 4.0 is a great example of Industry 4.0 technologies applied to non-automated processes. PROMAUT and TRACKTIO may distribute this technology to other manufacturing industries.
